Live In Estate Manager

Southend, Essex SS1, £19k + 1 bed flat, Mon to Fri and Sat mornings (40 hours per week)

Our client is seeking an experienced Estate Manager to manage a private residential block situated in Southend on Sea. The role comes with a one bedroom ground floor flat. This is a live in position. We are looking for someone with a background in hands‐on working, with strong customer service skills, contractor management experience and the ability to self‐supervise.   The successful candidate will take pride in ensuring the development looks fantastic at all times. You will be a highly motivated individual, highly efficient and able to deal with residents’ queries professionally and promptly.  Although this is not a desk job there will be an element of administrative work so the right candidate must be computer literate and able to manage expense and budgets, liaise with contractors on work estimates for repairs, administer third party insurance claims and liaise in writing with the managing agent producing email reports and communication.

The successful applicant must have a proven track record in a similar environment and establishing, implementing and monitoring broad objectives, policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality service to its residents and their guests.  You will be responsible for proactively engaging with residents, ensuring that they are fully updated on all building related matters, and dealing with residents and prospective residents enquiries in a timely manner.  Key responsibilities will include managing staff, managing the building’s servicing contractors including gardeners, plumbers, electricians etc., ensuring the security and safety of the development, its residents and all employees, guaranteeing the smooth running of all operations, maintaining positive and productive employee relations.

You must be proactive, highly organised and practical, as well and be very vigilant taking control of security and health and safety checks.  Must have the ability to multi task and turn your hand to minor maintenance tasks such as changing a light bulb etc. to ensure the building is in top condition.
