The residents of a high end private residential mansion block near Victoria station are seeking an experienced Porter to be responsible for the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the Estate, providing an accessible, professional presence and delivering an excellent standard of caretaking and support to residents, staff, and contractors. The Porter will provide not only a front of house reception and security presence but also take responsibility for post/parcels, keys, access control, building fire and maintenance checks, supervision of tradespersons working on site, and generally being ready and available to assist residents throughout the shift. The right candidate must have an excellent level of common sense and be totally motivated to protect the upkeep of the estate and its pristine reputation with some skills in basic DIY/Maintenance such as basic touch up/filling internal decorating skills, external maintenance such as clearing gutters & gullies, jet washing, some basic carpentry work for the purpose of adjusting doors and generally be confident with the use of power tools, drills, screwdrivers, changing lightbulbs. As it’s a prestige Victorian building it is in need a lot of care and attention and therefore the right candidate will get involved in investigating plumbing issues such as leaks from time to time and also supervise visiting trades/contractors to ensure they comply to the rules that benefit the building whilst at all times maintaining regular fire and health and safety checks. The Porter will also have important interaction with residents, visitors and contractors in their front of house role too plus maintain vigilant security presence but also take responsibility for post/parcels, keys, access control and generally being readily available to assist residents. You must significant experience gained within a similar role, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good understanding of Fire Prevention and Health and Safety at Work.
